2025 V72 Business Application
Participating in V72x2 Vegan Food Week provides an opportunity for your establishment to attract new customers, challenge your chefs, highlight your creativity, and show Richmond that you are excited about creating amazing vegan options! V72 has grown into such a special event that people travel from outside of Richmond to enjoy it!
Vegan Action's 2025 Vegan Food Week is set for Tuesday, January 21 - Sunday, January 26
As usual, we are inviting you to develop and submit a unique and special item or dish for the event. During V72, we will be highlighting specials on our social media platforms and also list the participating businesses, their specials, and photos of the specials on the V72 website. We can't wait to see what you've come up with!
Please complete this application by Sunday, December 29th, if you plan on participating.
Please note, we define “vegan” as containing no animal products (meat, fish, dairy, eggs) or animal byproducts (honey, animal fat, gelatin, casein, carmine/cochineal colors). If you are unsure of the source of any ingredients or need assistance, please email us!
PARTICIPATING BUSINESSES MUST FOLLOW THESE RULES:
Create a 2025 official dish submission that is not on the regular menu and has not been created for any past V72 Event! (Believe us, customers are really serious about this rule!)
Agree to not offer non-vegan substitutes for any V72 specials (e.g., promoting substitutions of non-vegan cheese or meat as an option for the special). V72 is to highlight and promote animal-free dishes.
Follow our deadline for dish/application submission which is Sunday, December 29th. This gives us the appropriate amount of time to promote the specials.
Educate their entire staff on the event details, the dish(es) they are are offering for the event, and information on the V72 Passport process.
When possible and appropriate, promote the event through their marketing efforts including social media and marketing materials inside the restaurant. This really helps with exciting V72 customers and selling out the specials!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
At the end of V72, patrons will vote for their favorite sweet treat and their favorite savory dish. We award First, Second, Third Place, and Honorable Mention for both of these categories and provide a plaque to display in your business. Businesses are encouraged to offer as many vegan dishes as they want during the V72 week (including past V72 favorites) but the “official” dish submission should not be on the the regular menu and should not have been offered for any past V72 Event! ONLY one sweet AND one savory dish that is unique can be nominated to win our best dish award. Participants are not required to enter in both categories. If you are accepted to participate and have listed multiple dishes, we will confirm with you about which dishes should be considered your official nomination.
We are again partnering with a charitable partner, Matchbox Mutual Aid which hosts 2 local organizations, Food Not Bombs and RVA Community Fridges, who work to deter food insecurity in Richmond. We would like to use this event to raise funds for this community resource. We encourage participating businesses to donate a portion of proceeds from each special to our charitable partner.
We will be providing each establishment with paper passports this year for V72 patrons.
Participating businesses will also be able to request table tents to promote the event within their establishment.
